Built by trades.
For trades.

CoreQuote started with a beer, a leaky roof, and a tradesman who was fed up with complicated, expensive quoting software. This is that story.

“I wish I had a simple, quick and cheap way of sending quotes to customers. My old app was complicated and expensive — there must be a better way.”

— Darryl, Forge & Mason
Matt Littler
Co-founder & Developer

Former corporate sales professional who never quite lost the programming bug. When Darryl issued the challenge, Matt brought together a background in enterprise sales — understanding what businesses actually need — and the technical skills to build it. Many months of coding, testing, and swearing at compile errors later, CoreQuote exists.

Darryl Hinchely
Co-founder & First User

Forge & Mason tradesman, and the reason CoreQuote exists. Darryl’s frustration with complex, overpriced quoting tools sparked the conversation that started everything. As CoreQuote’s first real-world user and ongoing critic, he’s made sure the app actually works the way a tradesperson needs it to — not the way a software developer thinks it should.

How it happened

It started the way most good ideas do — with a problem, a beer, and someone willing to do something about it. Darryl was on the tools. Matt was holding a bottle. The conversation turned into a product brief.

Matt’s background in corporate sales had taught him one thing above everything else: the businesses that win are the ones that respond fastest and look most professional. Trades are no different. The tradesperson who sends a professional quote within the hour of a site visit wins the job more often than not. The one who texts a number two days later loses it.

So the brief was simple: make it fast, make it professional, make it cheap. No subscription bloat, no features nobody uses, no desktop required. Quote from your phone, on-site, before you’ve left the driveway.

The conversations with other tradespeople confirmed it. Plumbers, builders, electricians, roofers, landscapers — across the board, the story was the same. Existing apps were either too complicated, too expensive, or both. There was a gap.

Then came the programming. And the testing. And quite a lot of swearing. But eventually, CoreQuote.

Security we take seriously

Your customers’ quotes contain your payment details, your bank information, your business identity. That’s financial data — and we’ve built CoreQuote’s security to match. The same standards you’d expect from a finance app, not a basic business tool. Your data and your customers’ data is handled with care.

Where we are now

CoreQuote is live on Android, in active development, and used by real tradespeople sending real quotes to real customers. We’re still building — iOS is coming, web access is coming, and the roadmap is shaped by what the people using it actually ask for.

Which is where you come in.

We want your feedback

If you want CoreQuote to do something it doesn’t do, or do something differently — tell us. We read every message. The best ideas make it into the app. This is a tool built by people who talk to tradespeople, not by a product team that doesn’t.
